SMGS Students awarded Pope John Paul Awards

Students of SMGS were recently been awarded Pope John Paul Awards in a ceremony and were presented their medal by the Bishop of Cloyne, Canon William Crean. The Pope John Paul Awards acknowledges the work students do in both the community and the parish.

Fifth Year students Sarah Bannon,  Hannah Chen,  Jim O'Donovan,  Aoife O'Leary,  Ellen Horgan and Saoirse Duggan received the bronze award this year. They volunteered for one hour in the community and the parish for 12 weeks.

Sixth Year student Denis O’ Sullivan was awarded the Papal Cross, having received the gold medal the year before. This is a remarkable achievement and we wish to congratulate Denis and all the receipents of the Awards.
