2nd Year History Trip

Second Years recently went on their History Trip to Kilkenny. The trip began with a walk around and a guided tour of one of Ireland's most treasured monuments Kilkenny Castle. The Castle dates back to the arrival of the Normans in the 12th Century and was the seat of theButler family, Earls of Ormonde . Followed bylunch in Kilkenny a trip to nearby Dunmore Caves gave a fascinating insightinto the formation of this geological gem. The caves have undergone a major archaeological survey and excavation which have uncovered artefacts dating back to the Viking era. A hugely enjoyable and educational day was had by all.
