The next meeting of the Blarney Historical Society will take place in Scoil Mhuire gan Smál on Thursday 5th October 2023 @ 8pm.

The illustrated lecture is titled: "Blueshirts and the IRA in 1930s Cork”

Speaker is David Ryan

Guest Speaker Mr. David Ryan, Genealogist, is also a local historian with responsibility for gathering and maintaining oral history archive of Cork city and county for the Cork Folklore Project. He has written and excellent article on tonights’s subject which is published in ‘The Archive’, the Project’s magazine. He has written articles and lectured on the life and development of Cork city. This illustrated talk explores aspects of life in the Blueshift era of 1930s Cork.
