Tough Start To Boys Soccer SeasonThe Boys U19 soccer team had a tough match against Glanmire, going down 3-1 despite a spectacular goal from Craig Hourigan.
Olympic Medalist Seán McCarthy receives a hero's welcome
Olympic Medalist Sean Crean- McCarthy and his brother Chris welcomed back today by his classmates and teachers after his hugely successful trip to the Youth Olympics in Argentina. Well done Sean! #teamireland #karate #karateireland #youtholympics
First Year Wellness Walk
Today 1st Years went on a wellness walk which was organised by the Amber Flag Committee. The Amber Flag Committee is committed to promoting positive mental health in SMGS.
Great win for SMGS Camogie
Senior Camogie girls beat Gaelcholaiste Mhuire today 7-5 to 1-6 to progress to the next round of the Cork Colleges. Well done girls.
First Year Football Update
Our First Year Girls Football team played Coláiste Gobnait last Friday. The weather was close just like the match. Tension filled the air. It was a rocky start to the match conceding 3 points in quick succession. Luckily the girls came back scoring multiple points. Kelsey Cooper made an excellent run and a great pass by Megan O Shea guaranteed a goal. Half time score was Blarney 1:8 to Coláiste GobhnaIt 4:5.
First Year Reading Intiative off to a great start.....📚

First Year Volcanoes
Today First Year students took part in a student inquiry on volcanoes as part of their Geography studies. The task involved creating a active volcano themselves out of man made materials and using a combination of reactive ingredients, they displayed their volcanoes as they erupted.

Our first year ladies football kicked off the season today where they took on local rivals from Coachford.
