TY mini company Conquer have developed, built and launched their app. The aim of the app is provide information on landmarks and facilities around Blarney at the touch of a button.
SMGS Trip to the Rhineland
A fantastic time was had by both students and teachers on our recent Fifth Year, jam packed, tour of Belgium, Holland and the Rhineland. Following a very early flight from Dublin we arrived in Brussels and did a walking tour of a very beautiful city.
Active Week kicks off in SMGS
SMGS active week got underway today. In 1st Year N. Aidan played N. Eithne in round 1 of the soccer tournament. 2nd year classes N. Deaglan and N. Colm went head to head in a spikeball game.
First Year SMGS Girls Football Blitz
On a very cold Wednesday, our 1st year girls headed for Ballincollig for a football blitz. Playing Macroom in their first game of the day, the Blarney girls took Ballincollig by storm. With a superb start from Alison O’ Keeffe once she found her scoring boots, she slotted over 3 quick points before rattling the back of the net. .
SMGS Blarney are Munster Camogie Champions
There were perfect conditions for the Camogie Munster Final between SMGS and Coláiste an Chroí Naofa, Carrignavar. SMGS Blarney started the game extremely well with Fiona Burke scoring the first point within minutes. Carrignavar responded quickly with a point of their own. The Carrignavar defence was strong but Órla Cremen broke through and scored the first goal of the match.
Green Schools Committee represented #climateactionchange protest
Many SMGS students and members of the Green Schools Committee took part in the recent #climatestrike protest in the city centre on Friday 15th March. oin a global climate strike on Friday 15th March. The protests are being led by students striking from school to call for #ClimateActionNow to meet the tempertature goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement
