SMGS Senior Camogie through to the Munster Final
The senior camogie team played Ballincollig Community School in Cork Colleges Ground, Castle Road, Mahon last Tuesday. The stakes were very high for the game as the winners would be crowned the Cork Colleges Intermediate A champions and they would also be through to the Munster Colleges Intermediate A final.

Well done to our 1st and 2nd year girls’ basket ball teams who played against St Angelas today. It was a win win day, with great determined performances from both teams.
Army Band pay a visit to SMGS
Students in SMGS were treated to a visit from the acclaimed Army Band recently. The Army band played a variety of well known tunes on orchestral instruments which was very beneficial for music students who got to see and hear all the various instruments of the orchestra. The students were treated to excellent performances from great singers and musicians.
SMGS Girls Basketball Report
Last week 1st years started out playing against Christ King in a very exciting and tough game. In the 3rd quarter they fought hard to lead the game and had to keep working together to maintain that lead. 10 seconds left and SMGS were up 2 points, but unfortunately Christ King snook in a 3 pointer resulting in a loss for SMGS by 1 point (31-30) Gutting for the girls but they played so well together!
Athletics success for Holly Carroll
Congratulations to Holly Carroll (3rd Year) on coming 4th in the South Munster Cross Country competition held in Riverstick. She now goes forward to represent the school in the Munster finals.
SMGS U14 Hurling Report
Hard luck to the under 14 hurlers who had a great battle with Mitchelstown CBS in the Cork Colleges in Kildorrery today. Unfortunately we had to concede home venue with no pitches available.
Great win for SMGS U15 Hurlers
SMGS got their u15 hurling campaign under way today in Ballyagran vs Crescent College. A strong first half display had SMGS leading 2-8 to no score thanks to staunch defending and excellent attacking play. A determined Crescent College came out in the second half but SMGS kept the pressure on and won on a scoreline of 4-15 to 3-2. Well done to all the panel.
