SMGS presents ‘Angus Afternoon’
On Tuesday 16th of January an 'Angus Afternoon' was organised by four TY students, Nathan Batchelor, Brian Osborne, Barry Mc Carthy and Edward Murphy from Scoil Mhuire gan Smál, Blarney.
Update: Operation Transformation in SMGS
Operation Transformation began on the 11th of January! Over 30 participants signed up on the day and have been to two sessions since.
Great Week for SMGS Sport
There was no end to the SMGS sporting achievements this week with the Girls Basketball team beating off St Marys of Midelton to become Cork Under 19 Girls Champions. Following on from this, the Boys Under 16 Basketball team also did the school proud with a great win over Coláiste Choilm making them the South U16 A Champions.
Senior Girls Basketball Success
The U19s played their semi final match today away to Coláiste Muire, Crosshaven. The girls started strong and stayed ahead of their opponents throughout the whole game finishing off with a score of 42-39!

LCVP Fundraising for Temple Street
5th year LCVP hosted a trick or treat party/disco for Blarney senior primary school on 27th October.
Elaine Mc Gee honoured by Association of Geography Teachers of Ireland
Former student Elaine McGee was awarded the Gwenda Hurst Memorial Medal for the most meritorious Leaving Certificate Geography Exam in 2017 from the Association of Geography Teachers of Ireland in the Trinity City Hotel in Dublin on Friday night last.
Model UN Workshop
Fifth Year students attended a workshop on Model United Nations in Rochestown Park Hotel on Friday last.
